Hope I didn't give some misinformation, I was just reading off what the Kioti dealer gave me. I have his comparison sheets which state the LK 2554 has

Regarding the PTO lift capacity, I'm also not an expert so cannot explain different measurements. I can only give you the numbers from brochures. Kioti gives lift capacity at lift point: LK2554=2100#, LK3054=2150#. JD gives lift capacity at 24" behind link ends: 4200=1700#, 4300=2200#. Now note that Kubota gives both numbers: L2500=1985# at lift point and L2500=1435# at 24 in behind LP. I don't have L3010 numbers. I figured that if the 4200 had more lift at 24" than the Kubota, which has almost as much at the lift point than the Kioti LK2554, than the 4200 must have more than the LK2554 also. Not very scientific I know, but probably not invalid. I could use some help here too.
Regarding the mid-PTO, neither Kioti spec sheets lists the mid-PTO as an option. This actually became less important to me when I found out how much mid-mowers cost...
Bottom line, I'm not knocking the Kioti. It looks like a great machine. But based on my needs, wants, and the prices I was given, another choice was more appropriate. And that choice was not governed by color. "> Kioti survey

Following is a copy of post I submitted here a while back. There are several more on all three tractors. I am going with industrial R4 tires as they look like a good compromise between turf and ag. They'll still give me some traction but be easier on the lawn (maybe).<br>I currently have a price on a JD 790 with loader, industrial tires, mid pto, 4wd, manual transmission for $13,720.<br>This is versus $14,600 for the same set-up in a 4200. I also have a quote of $14,000 for a demo (used at rodeo) 4200 for $14,000, same set-up, which I am about to jump on.<br>Be aware of some differences between the two. Loader max lift = 755 for 790 and 1195 for 4200; 4200 has independent pto, 3 point lift of 790@24 inches is 815 and 1700 for 4200, pto hp = 25 for 790 and 21.5 for 4200. All these numbers are for geared transmission.<br>The 790 has more horsepower but it looks like the 4200 will do more. Hope this helps. <br>

Actually I did not put down my third choice, the Kioti LK3054 you just described. I have almost decided that if I go with Kioti I would up it to the 30 hp. I did not mention it because it did not seem a fair comparison. For 1300 dollars the extra hp, live pto, shuttle, etc. seem worth it.<br> By the way, the haggle prices I've gotten so far are (includes loader) $12,800 - Kioti LK2554, $14,100 - Kioti LK3054, and $13,050 - Kubota L2500DT. There are lots more Kubota dealers I could haggle with, too, but will wait till I'm closer. I only know of the one dealer for Kioti, but will start checking around.<br>Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the insight. I would like to be able to back up to a flowerbed, drop tiller, and till away. I am right now looking at both Kubota L2500 and Kioti L2554. Both have a single stage overrunning clutch. Now what does overrunning mean?<br>By the way, how does one run a post hole digger with a single stage clutch?
